It works if you are going for that frosty snow storm look

Kraekus

Ha.

EmptyRefrigerator288

do a blizzard theme

Daddyguran

This is awful. I wish I could make you feel better. The best I can do is give you my free silver award.

Kraekus

Thank you, Brother.

Oh Noooooo!!!!! I did the same thing when doing a Matte varnish on my second redemptor it was completely finished and I had just switched from using citadel spray cans to army painter when my flgs couldn’t get any citadel sprays for a while and was so used to citadel having color coded cans and didn’t realize that I had grabbed a white primer instead of matte varnish and in one second completely covered it in primer and had to spend 11 hours on Saturday completely repainting the damn thing I had just spent the whole week after work painting and just had to get it done and off my workstation cause I couldn’t look at it any longer without losing my temper . That really sucks I hope you managed to deal with it better than I did I’ve never been so mad in the hobby as I was when it happened to me.

Kraekus

I ran down to the hobby room and yelled, "I done fucked up!". Tried to swab it off with white spirits and then isopropyl. Realized it was a lost cause and started laughing. All is well. I'll repaint it with a vengeance this time.

CodeRed8675309

What were you planning on hitting it with? I need to find a final coat spray, and probably some neon tape to be sure this doesn't happen

mrpwneta

not OP but dullcote is a product made by Testors - i think the spray can is discontinued, maybe the whole thing. i got a bottle of it today but that seemed hard to do

PrecisionZulu

Depending on what you painted it with, try mineral spirits. I haven’t ever had them eat my acrylics, and most spray paints are oil-based now. Obviously don’t do this if you used an oil wash or enamels to paint it.

Kraekus

I did try it. Sadly, all the nooks and crannies weren't cleaning up. So, now it's in 99% iso and stripping.

duskmonger

If this is from lacquer varnish hit it with another coat and it can reducing the frosting a lot. The lacquer reactivates.

Kraekus

Sadly, it was flat white.

duskmonger

Oh oof

Nikolaijuno

I did a similar thing with Ezekiel and a brand new can. Fortunately he is a Psycher, so a frost effect kind of works.

Fickle_Note

Just a week back got done with the last 7 models of my first ever 2000pts army. Had them standing on a stick all done, bases and everything. Got my varnish and bam! It was black primer… Funny thing is I had done a tiny test spray on the first three and it was slightly dark at that time. So saw it glistening and decided that I was good to go. Didn’t even register it was black and blasted three models completely black 😂
